we had a shop shuv once, i think back in 2015, being a Shovel centred outfit it was appropriate but being a shuv it also demanded far too much attention to make it as a reliable old jump on n go hack! Despite looking fantastic with a very fast makeover and a great paint job by Art the shopshuv found a new home and a happier life. So for many a year we shelved the idea of a test bed / general ride for us all and focussed on strains of daily life in the custom bike world. . . So fast forward to 2023 and on my birthday that year i collected a project Evo FLSTF, yes an iconic Fatboy and always my fav HD model, that had been desperately abused by a truly woeful Co up north (never again!) However the engine was mint and happily the transmission too so at the time this was going to be a restore to stock and sell but once in the shop it firmly got under our skin. The list of problems was vast, at the hands of butchers, not a single bolt, cover, fender, controls or lights and wiring had escaped un mangled, we rode it for a month and then it had to have some serious attention and when it came back out it looked like this above . . . im not going to post a pic of how it was when we got it as a, its awful and b, i think right here would be a better place to post up the old shopshuv:
Right so up there in front of Starbucks was the first second incarnation, the first was immediate and involved a set of our 13" Zombi Killas and Beringer hand controls with Biltwell Kung Fu grips, all in all the new position made this the single most comfortable ride I've ever had and the motor was still virtually new! so cruising through the summer of 2023 was pure therapy and always made you happy, right up to just after the Starbucks pic was taken, then once back at the shop the wiring loom went up, fully on fire as i pulled in to the courtyard, smoke thick from between the split tanks and a sudden freak out about the fuel tanks straddling the fire. . . .
